Connecting Adults Through the Joy of Music

Join a vibrant community where adults learn, play, and share the joy of music. At PNHB, music is more than just notes on a page — it’s about connection, creativity, and community. We offer a welcoming space for adults of all experience levels to grow as musicians, build friendships, and thrive through shared musical experiences.

A Band for Everyone
Everyone is welcome at PNHB—no matter your musical background.
Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, returning after years away, or eager to try something new, there’s a place for you here. Our Green Band is perfect for those with little or no experience, those brushing off some rust, or anyone learning a new instrument.
As your skills grow, you can join one (or more!) of our four advanced bands.
For those in a concert band they can join smaller groups (ensembles) which perform at community events, in residential homes and in schools. The ensembles are organized by members and fees are based on expenses.

Discover the Joy of Music guided by our Conductors and Coaches
Each of our bands is led by one or two of our five experienced, fun-loving conductors who bring energy, guidance, and a love of music to every rehearsal. In addition, members benefit from sectionals—smaller group sessions led by skilled coaches who provide focused support and help everyone improve their playing.

Concerts and other events
As a highlight of our year — and a fundraising effort — all of our concert bands perform in public concerts each Fall and Spring. These events are fun, affordable, and a wonderful way to experience the joy of community music-making.
We also offer low-cost advertising opportunities in our concert programs — a great way to support the band and promote your business, check out the details here.
In May, we hold an Information Day that is free where you can hear the Green Band perform and the coaches explain and demonstrate the various instruments. It is very entertaining and educational. Watch on events page for when the next Information Day is schedule.

Social Activities
At PNHB, it’s not just about the music — it’s about community.
While making music together is our main focus, we also love to relax, share meals, and enjoy each other’s company. Many of our members have made lasting friendships through PNHB.
Our Social Committee keeps the fun going with a variety of events throughout the year — from potluck lunches (often featuring performances by our own musical groups) to picnics at the zoo and other group outings.

Want to Donate?
We rely on membership fees, fundraising, grants and donations to keep this non profit running. We are a registered charity. Please donate.
Want to Volunteer?
Want to help us out? There are tasks we need volunteers for that don’t require you to play an instrument. Especially for Students looking to do something for their community hours but others are welcomed too. Currently we could use help with our music library and at concerts. Email admin@pnhb.ca for more information.
